Bullitt Presents: James Lavelle

Calling all original, present, and future headz! On Sat 23 May Bullitt is honoured to host James Lavelle, founder of revered record label Mo’Wax and leading member of long-running collaborative project UNKLE (who treated Mandela Hall to a beautiful performance as recently as last May).

James pioneered Friday nights at Fabric, Monday nights at That’s How it Is, and for Bullitt will bring the eclectic spirit of his current Living in My Headphones radio show and Soho club night.

Joining James is a fellow UK club culture innovator: Belfast’s own Noel Watson. Along with his brother Maurice, Noel mixed the iconic Electro compilation series for Streetsounds and threw legendary parties at London clubs Delirium! and Heaven, and is rightly celebrated as a key player in the development of underground house and hip-hop culture.

Both men bring history, lots of it! But to quote one of James’ early Mo’Wax columns, they continue to search for the grooves of tomorrow.

Support on the night comes from our stylin’ friends at Never Never, who are also producing a limited edition t-shirt to celebrate – keep your eyes peeled. Entry on the night is free, and we go from 8pm to late.
