Bullitt Presents Black Bones DJs / Group Zero / JC

  • Venue: Bullitt

Kickin’ off our season of leftfield disco action in the Bullitt Courtyard, we’re psyched to host the debut DJ excursion of BLACK BONES - AKA much-respected house don Timmy Stewart and deeeep music nerd Aaron Black. The lads have just released their first 12”, where they ‘exhumed and retouched’ across the afrobeat/acid/psyche/funk spectrum – Discogs is in a tizzy over it and you will be too. Oddball selections put together in style - check out their blog at blackbones.co.uk

Joining them is GROUP ZERO, otherwise known as mild-mannered indie pin-up Cathal Cully of Girls Names. Group Zero’s ‘Structures and Light’ (http://touchsensitiverecords.bigcartel.com/…/group-zero-str…) is startling – a beautiful suite of cold-wave optimism through smart club jams, and one of our favourite releases of recent times. Cathal is a top selector: from post-punk shocks to hazy Mood Hut grooves and many places in-between.

Tying it all together and bringing his guest’s drinks/directing punters to the bathrooms is Bullitt resident Jonny Carberry (Low Profile), playing ambient electronics to private press soul, wavy synths to lost disco and house. Jonny holds it down most Fridays and Saturdays - be cool to see you there.

It’s free, and we’ll spin the first record at 8pm.
